Ravna gora

You can also admire Trakošćan from a higher altitude, specifically from the peak of Ravna Gora, the northernmost and, for many, the most captivating mountain of the Croatian Zagorje region. Ravna Gora is crisscrossed with gentle trails and steep ascents, rich in history and greenery, offering a wealth of activities for nature and adventure enthusiasts. This popular destination for outdoor lovers lies in the upper basin of the Bednja River and is considered the last extension of the Alps.

Ravna Gora is one of the best paragliding destinations in central Croatia, featuring two take-off points for fans of the sport. The northern launch faces Višnjica and is managed by the "Kolibri" Club. The southern launch faces Trakošćan and is managed by the Paragliding Club "Let" from Ivanec.
The western part of Ravna Gora is the most intriguing for hikers, home to two mountain lodges: Pusti Duh House and Filić’s Lodge, which offer views of the Bednja Valley, its surrounding hills, and the Macelj Highlands. The Ravna Gora lookout provides a stunning panorama of Trakošćan Castle, accessible via hiking trails. Along the way to the castle, you’ll be charmed by small Bednja courtyards, occasional roadside crosses, and early Baroque chapels.

For those seeking a blend of adrenaline and nature, we highly recommend a quad safari tour. This guided quad adventure allows you to explore the breathtaking landscapes of Trakošćan and Ravna Gora, delivering an unforgettable experience with spectacular panoramic views of the castle and the Trakošćan Valley.
